Research

Interdisciplinary research with an emphasis on environmental planning and the promotion of knowledge and methodology in integrated spatial planning, promoting innovative methods for multidimensional and intersectoral planning of coastal and marine areas as well as the dissemination of knowledge /exchange of experience worldwide.

The activities of the Laboratory extend to the Mediterranean level having a long experience and practice at issues referring to the Mediterranean sea such as: the CAMP (Coastal Areas Management Project), the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, MAP (Marine Action Plan) and a long cooperation with PAP (Priority Actions Programme) on ICZM guidelines, tourism carrying capacity, sustainable development etc.
